Sophic is a new Sydney-based law firm with a difference. Where big firms are often expensive, inflexible and intimidating, Sophic offers a fresh approach. One based around human relationships and a collaborative approach, flexible and accessible legal advice, and a lean and agile business model that means lower fees for its clients.
Studio Helm were brought on to create a brand, website and stationery for Sophic. Working in collaboration with Radford Hannah, we began with a market research exercise to better understand the client and its market. Our creative strategy was informed by the insights we uncovered during this immersion and the subsequent brand positioning work, focusing on the idea of progress through partnership.
We followed this up with a naming exercise, putting forward the name Sophic, meaning sage / full of wisdom – a shift from the partner-centric names of more traditional law firms.
